China - Why-Games

  • 3499

Even today in China, the unmistakable evidence of fascinating stories is everywhere. Hundreds of years ago, the country teetered on the brink of a power change. Regional rulers fought endlessly with each other with only one goal in mind, to become the new Emperor. They erected imposing houses and sent their emissaries to the regional courts to curry favor. This fascinating game of domination combines multiple tactical possibilities with simple‐to‐learn rules and a short playing time! Master game designer Michael Schacht has based China on his multiple award‐winning game Web of Power.

Our family enjoys this game because it is easy to learn and play, yet it has great strategy. It is a slightly lighter strategy game than the popular Settlers of Catan or Carcassone. The game is over quick so you had better get your domination plans executed without delay.

We placed this game in the "history" section although there is not a lot of teaching value to the game as far as information about China. This game could serve to peak the interest for encouraging an interest in China's history. Plus, we like the theme for those of you studying China as a school subject.
